✨ Overview

  • The Ha Giang Loop is one of the most unforgettable journeys in Northern Vietnam. Starting from Ha Giang City, the route winds through dramatic highland districts such as Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, and Meo Vac, before looping back to Ha Giang on the final day.

  • Over 3 to 4 days, travelers typically cover nearly 400 kilometers, riding along twisting mountain roads where breathtaking scenery stretches out on both sides. Every turn brings a fresh view—towering limestone peaks, deep valleys, and endless curves that feel thrilling with just a touch of adventure.

  • The Loop is also a cultural experience. Along the way, visitors spend the night in local village homestays, sharing simple, hearty dinners together and tasting Ha Giang’s famous “happy water,” adding warmth and laughter to an already unforgettable trip.

  • Furthermore, everyone will have the opportunity to meet and make new friends from all over the world after the trip. Therefore, the Ha Giang Loop is one of the most worthwhile trips in Vietnam that you definitely shouldn’t miss.

FAQs

🚙 1. Necessary personal items before a trip in winter
- Warm jacket / windproof jacket (mountain roads can get very cold) - Thermal layers (heattech/long-sleeve base layer) - Gloves (warm + better grip when riding) - Scarf / neck warmer (very useful on passes) - Beanie / warm hat (especially early morning & night) - Long pants + warm socks - Raincoat or waterproof outer layer (winter can still be wet/foggy)
👨‍✈️ 2. How do I pay for my Ha Giang Loop tour
You can usually pay in cash (VND) at our office/check-in.
🏔️ 3. Pack luggage before the trip
- Pack light: a small backpack (7–10kg) is ideal for the loop. - Bring only essentials for 2–4 days (clothes, toiletries, chargers). - Leave big luggage safely at our hostel/office (storage available). - Use waterproof bags or rain covers in rainy season.
🕒 4. How many days should we spend on the Ha Giang Loop?
- 2D1N: Short version, best if you’re tight on time. - 3D2N: Most popular — great highlights + comfortable pace. - 4D3N: Best experience — more stops, less rushing, deeper exploration.
🧳 5. Do I need an international motorbike driving license?
- If you self-drive, you should have a valid motorbike license (and IDP if applicable). - If you don’t have the correct license or you want to relax, choose an Easy Rider (ride as a passenger with a local driver). - Additionally, we still offer 50cc motorbikes (no IDP required if you still would like to ride your self). - Safety first — we always recommend riding within your skill level.
6. Raincoat, helmet and rope
- We provide a helmet and raincoat for the trip. - We also provide bungee cords/straps to secure your luggage on the bike. - For extra comfort, you can bring your own gloves or waterproof jacket if you prefer.
